Nibakure - in local language means: Let them grow, Give them hope !

Everyone felt proud to be part of the program after watching a heart wrenching video from Nibakure Children, Rwanda. The story is about children cared by women they have never seen before, fed & sleep in homes provided by well wishers on behalf of a woman they never heard of.
That woman is Floriane Brown, Founder & Executive Director of the Nibakure Children Village.
Floriane stood up after the video & thanked to everyone especially her board of directors, saying “I couldn’t do it without you. She said that the government of Rwanda generously donated to the organization for a huge 23 hectors of land and that saved her organization a lot of money of buying a land in Rwanda.
Homes will be shared as10 orphans per home, each home will have two mothers who will raise the children. The organization target is to have 15 homes in all.
Floriane said that they have been working for five years and now very well positioned after countless of hours of work, many sleepless night and long traveling times. The traveling time to Rwanda, It is about 26 hours of travel time. "So, now we getting somewhere, it is becoming clear now."
In Rwanda, we have partners on the ground as you can see (pointing to the video presentation), some of these people are working with us. Also, some government officials are helping us, as some call me “cutting deals lady” as I beg for water or electricity, some of these expensive stuff. We also have an American architect from Colorado in Rwanda who is currently working with us.
In this organization there are 12 board directors, all of them are here except four who are out of town.
Rwanda finally is the most peaceful nation in Africa after what happen few years ago as we all know. The reason I am saying that is because I go back and forth and I see foreigners everywhere and people are minding their business 24 hours without any problem.

The construction finally begun 6 months ago, this gave many people badly needed jobs. As you saw the video, men and women are working side by side.
Even though, they get paid less comparing here but any pay is a valued one in Rwanda.
First stage of the construction is building three homes and as we finish it is looking great and soon we are going to complete with the roofs.
'Finally, the word of our work is getting around the world. Today, I got phone call from a group in Belgium who found us on the Web. They told me that they want to help and start fundraising to furnish these homes. I thank them a lot." Floriane said
"Also, there is Single family foundation that is helping us too and they found us on the Web." she added
Floriane and a group of supporters including students will be leaving in December to Rwanda. While there, they will witness the completion of the new homes and other developments. She told the African News Journal that she will definitely update with us the situation of the Nabakure Village after her return from Africa.
