"My secret to winning was uniqueness, having something different, Unlike anything people offered. The question I asked my self was how could I win out of 22 competitors?
I than realized I have all the right spices right in front of me, I made "Maharagua" which is fava beans combined it with beef stew and made it lilttle spicey with our own bizbaz (somali hot sauce) simply let it simmer slowly in a low heat for an hour, which gave me the final product I called "The Bushman Chili", said Jamal Hashi, Co-owner & Chef of the Safari Express, while speaking to The African News Journal. "It feels great to be the winner, because so many people have doubts about African food. It not only has great taste but also a lasting impression. I have had people come to me a few days after trying some African delicasies and ask "where can i buy the recipes'? he added.
